There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Villarrobledo (8-18) defeated at home 10th ranked Torrelodones (10-16) 85-78 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Villarrobledo made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. American guard Marquiz Baker (188-89, college: Alcorn St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). His fellow American import center Garrick Sims (203-91, college: Lake Erie) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield, agency: Duran International) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Congolese center Jordan Sakho (209-97, agency: Beo Basket) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Torrelodones. Four Villarrobledo and five Torrelodones players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Villarrobledo moved-up to twelfth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Newly promoted Torrelodones dropped to the ninth position with 16 games lost.
