Bergamo raced past Lecco to advance into Group B semifinals. Bergamo held Lecco to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.9 percent accuracy of the winners and made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Bergamo forced 21 Lecco turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Alessandro Panni (189-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Guard Andrea Scanzi (196-88) helped adding 14 points. Four Bergamo players scored in double figures. Bergamo's coach Cesare Ciocca felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Giulio Mascherpa (185-92, agency: Interperformances) with 12 points and center Giorgio Piunti (206-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds.
