Semi-Finals Game 5: Leiden - Groningen 73-43

Leiden recorded the second victory over Groningen rallying to a comfortable home success. The game was mostly controlled by Leiden. Groningen was better in fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Groningen to just 6 points in second quarter. Leiden made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Groningen 41-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Leiden players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Groningen's players. American point guard Cashmere Wright (183-90, college: Cincinnati) nailed 21 points for the winning side and the former international power forward Jeroen van der List (213-89, college: Indian Hills CC, agency: Court Side) accounted for 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Leiden players scored in double figures. Leiden's coach Eddy Casteels felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Canadian power forward Ross Bekkering (203-87) came up with 3 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Will Sullivan (190-92, college: Miami, OH, agency: Court Side) added 7 points respectively for Groningen in the defeat.
