Regular Season Round 33: Nantes - St Chamond 80-61

The game between seventh ranked Nantes (18-15) and 15th ranked Saint Chamond (13-20) in Nantes ended with biggest points difference. Nantes outscored guests from Saint Chamond 80-61. It looked good early as Saint Chamond took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nantes had a 26-17 second period charge getting the lead and Saint Chamond was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-80. Nantes forced 23 Saint Chamond turnovers and had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Valentin Bigote (196-92, agency: Comsport) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nantes' coach Franck Collineau used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) who recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Mantas Ruikis (196-85) added 13 points respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nantes. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Le Portel. Newly promoted Saint Chamond keeps the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Nantes' next round opponent will be Denain Voltaire (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Saint Chamond will play against Orchesien BC and hope to win that game.
