Regular Season Round 33: Bourg - Vichy Clermont 72-68

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked JL Bourg (20-13) defeated at home 8th ranked JA Vichy (16-17) 72-68. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. JA Vichy was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) chipped in 13 points. JL Bourg's coach Christophe Denis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP, agency: HMS) who recorded 21 points and 6 assists and Jamaican-American Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively. JL Bourg moved-up to second place, which they share with Evreux and Provence Basket. Newly promoted JA Vichy dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. JL Bourg's next round opponent will be Lille Metropole (#9) on the road and are hoping to win another game. JA Vichy will play against Saint-Quentin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
