Regular Season Round 28: Faros - Iraklis 90-62

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Iraklis (11-15) was outscored by second ranked Faros (21-5) in Keratsiniou 90-62. The game without a history. Faros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Iraklis' 34. Worth to mention a great performance of Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-81) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and point guard Marios Batis (190-80) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Faros players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized German forward Dimitris Cheilaris (206-90, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Giorgios Apostolidis (199-84) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Faros maintains second position with 21-5 record behind leader Kymis. Iraklis at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 15 games lost. Faros will play against league's leader Kymis on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Iraklis will play against Promitheas (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
