Quarter-Finals Round 1: Hitachi SR - Aishin SH 71-76

Aishin rallied past Hitachi to secure 1-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hitachi Sunrockers won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Five Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. International power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Kevin Murphy (196-90, college: Tenn Tech, agency: Priority Sports) added 23 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Sunrockers.
