Regular Season Round 33: Iberostar Tener. - Dominion BB 77-71

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked CB Canarias (16-17) beat 9th ranked Dominion BB (16-17) in Tenerife 77-71 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dominion BB won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when CB Canarias won last quarter 22-17. CB Canarias outrebounded Dominion BB 39-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Dominion BB was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Javier Beiran (200-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (210-82) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, college: Wichita St.) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and Belgian forward Axel Hervelle (205-83) added 4 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Dominion BB. Four Dominion BB players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CB Canarias moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Dominion BB. CB Canarias will face league's leader FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
