Regular Season Round 33: Hapoel Holon - Maccabi T-A 82-92

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hapoel Holon (12-21) lost at home to second ranked Maccabi T-A (24-9) 92-82. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Holon was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi T-A especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international point guard Gal Mekel (190-88, college: Wichita St., agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and guard Shlomi Harush (185-87) added 23 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Maccabi T-A. They maintain second place with 24-9 record having just three points less than leader Hapoel J-M. Hapoel Holon at the other side keeps the tenth position with 21 games lost.
