Regular Season Round 34: Poitiers - Souffel 74-57

Very expected game when 17th ranked Souffelweyersheim (11-23) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Poitiers (18-16) 74-57. It looked good early as Souffelweyersheim took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Poitiers had a 27-18 second period charge getting the lead and Souffelweyersheim was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-74. Poitiers made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Souffelweyersheim turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Souffelweyersheim helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Darrin Dorsey (188, college: Dakota Wesleyan) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Kevin Harley (192-94) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jarryd Cole (205-88, college: Iowa) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Ivorian center Cedric Bah (198-94) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Souffelweyersheim. Poitiers moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nantes and Lille. Souffelweyersheim lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost.
