Regular Season Round 34: Boulazac - Boulogne 98-76

There was no surprise when 10th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (16-18) was outplayed on the road by fifth ranked Boulazac Basket (20-14) 98-76. It looked good early as SO Maritime Boulogne took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Boulazac Basket had a 25-16 second period charge getting the lead and SO Maritime Boulogne was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-98. Boulazac Basket made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a very good performance for American point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists. The other American import power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Inception Sports) contributed with 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Xavier Corosine (183-85) replied with 21 points and American forward Lance Goulbourne (203-89, college: Vanderbilt) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for SO Maritime Boulogne. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Boulazac Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bourg. SO Maritime Boulogne at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 18 games lost.
