There was no surprise in Kalgoorlie where 11th ranked Giants (7-18) were outplayed by fourth ranked Buccaneers (17-8) 113-85 on Saturday. Buccaneers dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Giants' 52. They outrebounded Giants 56-38 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Buccaneers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Maurice Barrow (198-92, college: Fairfield) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and guard Matthew Adekponya (194-90) who added 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Buccaneers players scored in double figures. American swingman Kenny Manigault (196-91, college: Pikeville) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Buccaneers maintains fourth position in League with 17-8 record. Loser Giants keep the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Buccaneers will face Lightning (#10) in North Lake in the next round where they are favorite. Giants will play at home against Slammers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
