Everything went according to plan when second ranked Newcastle Hunters (15-5) beat on the road 8th ranked Sutherland Sharks (8-11) 74-64 on Saturday. Sutherland Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Puerto Rican-American guard Justynn Hammond (196-87, college: Rogers St.) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Russell Hinder (208-79, college: Augusta) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Brandon Crompton (203, college: King) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 17 rebounds and Isaac Turner scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Newcastle Hunters maintains second position in League with 15-5 record having just two point less than leader Geelong S. Loser Sutherland Sharks dropped to the seventh place with 11 games lost. Newcastle Hunters will have a break next round. Sutherland Sharks will play on the road against Hills Hornets (#10) in Baulkham Hills and hope to win that game.
