Regular Season Round 15: Paulistano - Mogi 82-80

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Mogi (12-3) in Sao Paolo on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Paulistano (10-5) 82-80. It was a great evening for point guard Arthur Pecos (183-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard George Lucas (195-96) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was naturalized American Shamell Stallworth (195-80, college: USF, agency: Interperformances) with 31 points and 4 assists and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Paulistano maintains fourth place with 10-5 record. Mogi lost third consecutive game. They still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Pinheiros. Paulistano are looking forward to face Liga Sorocaba (#9) in Sorocabana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mogi will play at home against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#8) and is hoping to win this game.
