White Wings were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Heidelberg 76-72 on Saturday night. White Wings were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Croatian guard Hrvoje Kovacevic (190-86) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Till-Joscha Joenke (190-92) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for White Wings. Four White Wings players scored in double figures. White Wings' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. MLP Academics Heidelberg will face Crailsheim Merlins on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. White Wings will play against Hamburg (#3) and hope to win that game.
