Regular Season Round 1: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 87-70

Everything went according to plan when Kumamoto V. (2-0) beat at home Kagawa FA (0-2) 87-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kumamoto V.. Kagawa FA was better in fourth quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Kumamoto V. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Shintaro Kobayashi (184-85) chipped in 20 points. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Jamaican power forward Adrian Forbes (211-88, college: Auburn, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with 8 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. will face again Kagawa FA (#5) in Takamatsu in the next round.
