Regular Season Round 18: Paulistano - Franca 89-93

An interesting game for Vivo/Franca (12-5) which played road game in Sao Paolo against one of their biggest challengers Paulistano (10-7). Third ranked Vivo/Franca managed to get a 4-point victory 93-89. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Paulistano won third quarter 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Paulistano outrebounded Vivo/Franca 48-21 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Paulistano was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Pedro Lima (191-87) scored 25 points and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Cesar Araujo (201-81) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Vivo/Franca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Arthur Pecos (183-95) with 27 points and 9 rebounds and Eddy Carvalho (196-87) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Paulistano's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca maintains third position with 12-5 record having four points less than leader Mogi. Paulistano at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Osasco B..
