Marin used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Melilla 78-72 on Friday night. Melilla Baloncesto trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 30-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 72-78 at the end of the game. Marin forced 22 Melilla Baloncesto turnovers. Strangely Melilla Baloncesto outrebounded Marin 33-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for guard Andres Miso (198-83) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. Power forward Javier Mugica (200-83) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Marin's coach Javier Llorente allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Pedro Rivero (186-79) answered with 18 points and 4 assists and center Oliver Arteaga (208-83) added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Melilla Baloncesto. Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Marin will face Leyma Basquet (#3) in Coruna in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Melilla Baloncesto will play at home against Palma (#17) and hope to win that game.
