Regular Season Round 2: Pogon RS - AZS AWF Mick. 65-99

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Ruda Slaska where Pogon RS (0-1) was rolled over by AZS AWF Mick. (1-1) 99-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS AWF Mick.. Pogon RS was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. AZS AWF Mick. forced 21 Pogon RS turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Mariusz Piotrkowski (198-84) scored 20 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four AZS AWF Mick. players scored in double figures. Center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Daniel Kubista (187-88) scored 14 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AZS AWF Mick. will face AZS PK in Krakow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pogon RS will play on the road against Zaglebie (#13) in Sosnowiec and hope to win that game.
