Very important is a road loss of AZS PCz (1-1) against Polonia Bytom (2-0) on Saturday night. Visiting AZS PCz was crushed by Polonia Bytom in Bytom 90-57. The game was mostly controlled by Polonia Bytom. AZS PCz was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Polonia Bytom dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to AZS PCz's 34. Polonia Bytom forced 24 AZS PCz turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Grzegorz Zadecki (195-83) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Piotr Wojdyr (217-90, agency: Promotex) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. Forward Tomasz Nogalski (192-79) responded with 18 points and swingman Mateusz Gazarkiewicz (193-91) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. AZS PCz's coach Dariusz Szynkiel gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Polonia Bytom will face Wisla Krakow (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. AZS PCz will play against AZS KU PO (#1) and hope to win that game.
