Regular Season Round 2: Viten Fuen. - Alcobendas 69-81

There was a small surprise in Madrid where Alcobendas (1-1) defeated Getafe (0-1) 81-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Alcobendas. Getafe was better in fourth quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alcobendas forced 22 Getafe turnovers. Getafe was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Luis de la Pena (200-94) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. David Cuellar (192-97) produced 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Victor Moreno (195-98) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alcobendas will face Azuqueca at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Getafe will play against La Roda (#2) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the LEB Silver just one year after relegation.
