Regular Season Round 3: Caen - Lourdes 97-63

Caen used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Tarbes 97-63. The game without a history. Caen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lourdes-Tarbes' 30 and made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Caen forced 20 Lourdes-Tarbes turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for American-Cape Verdean swingman B.J. Monteiro (196-90, college: Duquesne) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Bryson Pope (198-90, college: Kent St.) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Caen players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) answered with 11 points and 6 assists and the former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Lourdes-Tarbes. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caen's next round opponent will be UB Chartres (#15) at home which should be another easy win for them. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against GET Vosges (#8) and hope to win that game.
