A very close game took place in Noerdlingen between Rotenburg/Scheessel and TH Wohnbau Angels. Rotenburg/Scheessel (1-1) got a very close victory on the road over TH Wohnbau Angels (0-2). Rotenburg/Scheessel managed to escape with a 3-point win 69-66 on Saturday evening. TH Wohnbau Angels were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-12 charge of Rotenburg/Scheessel, which allowed them to win the game. The former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) notched 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Laura Rahn (186-86) supported her with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds by Canadian forward Kim Pierre-Louis (183-93, college: Massachusetts) did not help to save the game for TH Wohnbau Angels. Carina Hoegg (186-91) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Rotenburg/Scheessel will meet SV Halle Lions (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. TH Wohnbau Angels will play against Herner TC and hope to win that game.
