But Muro Basquet was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from 78-64 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sitges. Muro Basquet was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Sitges won last quarter 29-16. The best player for the winners was center Xavier Sabate (205-83) who scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Roger Perez chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sitges players scored in double figures. Sitges' coach Eduardo Pinero used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Josep Roman (195-92) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-83) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Sitges will face Valls Nutrion (#7) in the next round. Muro Basquet will play against Vive El Masnou (#13) in Barcelona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
