Regular Season Round 4: Ryukyu GK - Shiga L-Stars 77-49

Bottom-ranked Shiga L-Stars (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-49 loss to fifth ranked Ryukyu GK (2-2) in Okinawa on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game was mostly controlled by Ryukyu GK. Shiga L-Stars was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Shiga L-Stars to just 6 points in first quarter. American forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-85) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK's coach Tsutomu Isa felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds and guard Tomonobu Hasegawa (184-90) added 7 points respectively for lost side. Ryukyu GK moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Shiga L-Stars still closes the standings with four games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Aishin Sea Horses (#4) in Kariya in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play at home against Kyoto Hannar. and hope to get finally their first victory.
