The game in Manati supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Santeras (14-7) played at the court of 5th ranked Atenienses (10-10). Santeras smashed Atenienses 92-58 on Sunday. Santeras looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The winners were led by American forward Deven Hunter (190-94, college: Oregon St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and international swingman Ali Gibson (180-93, college: Oregon St.) supported her with 22 points and 7 assists. Four Santeras players scored in double figures. Even 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American Ashley Shields (180-85, college: SW Tenn.St.CC) did not help to save the game for Atenienses. U.S. Virgin Islands guard Lanese Bough (178-93, college: Omaha) added 2 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santeras moved-up to third place. Loser Atenienses keep the fifth position with ten games lost. Santeras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Atenienses will play against the league's second-placed Montaneras (#2) in Morovis and hope to secure a win.
