Regular Season Round 1: UCAM Murcia - Joventut 67-65

A very interesting game took place in Murcia. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Joventut (0-1) to UCAM Murcia (1-0) 67-65 on Sunday evening. The hosts were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 8-point deficit before their 20-10 run, which allowed them to win the game. UCAM Murcia dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Joventut's 26. They outrebounded Joventut 36-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (179-91) nailed 19 points for the winning side and British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Albert Sabat (182-85) came up with 21 points and the former international center Albert Miralles (206-82) added 6 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Joventut in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. UCAM Murcia's next round opponent will be Baskonia in Vitoria and it will be for sure the game of the week. Joventut will play at home against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
