Regular Season Round 2: Weissenhorn - Bayer Giants 80-88

There was a minor upset when Weissenhorn Youngstars (1-1) were defeated at home by Bayer Giants (1-1) 88-80 on Sunday. Bayer Giants made 27-of-28 free shots (96.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Kerry Carter (188-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import forward Brandon Nazione (203-94, college: E.Michigan) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Naturalized Austria point guard David Kramer (191-97) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Bjoern Rohwer (213-95) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. Weissenhorn Youngstars' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bayer Giants will face FC Bayern II (#3) in Muenchen in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Weissenhorn Youngstars will play on the road against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and hope to win that game.
