Regular Season Round 1: Yalova Bld - Istanbulspor 74-86

Date: October 2, 2016
Yalova Bld was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Istanbul 86-74 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbulspor. Yalova Bld was better in second period 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Walter Lemon Jr. (190-92, college: Bradley) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Istanbulspor players scored in double figures. Istanbulspor's coach Hakan Yavuz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Aubrey Coleman (193-87, college: Houston, agency: HMS) answered with 31 points and 8 rebounds and Ahmet Tunali (203-92) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Yalova Bld. Istanbulspor will face Pertevniyal (#16) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Yalova Bld will play on the road against Final Genclik in Bursa and hope to win that game.
