The game between closely ranked teams ended with Universidad de Concepcion's (1-1) road loss to Espanol de Talca (1-0) 79-85 on Wednesday. Universidad de Concepcion was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Dwight McCombs (203-89, college: Cent.Florida) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-86) helped adding 18 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Jamaica-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Diego Silva (186-93) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Espanol de Talca will face Tinguiririca S.F. (#4) in San Fernando in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
