KR used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Sauoarkrokur 98-78. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KR outrebounded Tindastoll 50-35 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) fired 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Sigurdur Thorvaldsson (201-80) chipped in a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four KR players scored in double figures. Guard Petur Birgisson (185-96) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Senegalese-Spanish power forward Mamadou Samb (210-89) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Tindastoll's coach Rou Costa tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. KR's next round opponent will be Skallagrimur (#8) in Borgarnes and are hoping to win another game. Tindastoll will play at home against Thor AK (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
