Regular Season Round 3: Budivelnyk - Cherkasy 75-57

Budivelnyk used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Cherkasy 75-57 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Budivelnyk. Cherkasy managed to win fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Cherkasy 40-29 including 25 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Budivelnyk made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Henry Dugat (183-87, college: Baylor) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Naturalized Lithuania center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Center Igor Chumakov (208-90) came up with 19 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Alexander Sizov (198-88) added 3 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Cherkasy in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Budivelnyk will again meet Cherkasy (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cherkasy will have a break next round.
