Regular Season Round 5: Ehime OV - Kagoshima 90-83

Everything could happen in Matsuyama at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Orange Vikings and 6th ranked Kagoshima had identical 1-4 record. This time Orange Vikings used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Renova 90-83 on Friday night. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Kagoshima won third quarter 27-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orange Vikings made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) chipped in 20 points. Five Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and American-Panamanian forward Tymell Murphy (196-90, college: FIU) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Orange Vikings (2-4) moved-up to fourth place. Kagoshima lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
