Regular Season Round 2: Istanbulspor - Pertevniyal 64-63

A very close game took place in Istanbul between Istanbulspor and Pertevniyal. Istanbulspor (2-0) got a very close home victory over Pertevniyal (0-2). Istanbulspor managed to escape with a 1-point win 64-63 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Berkay Sinirlioglu (-94) chipped in 6 points and 4 assists. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Ege Arar (208-96) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 20 rebounds and guard Sertay Gursu (194-87) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Istanbulspor will meet Bursaspor (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pertevniyal will play against Final Genclik (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
