Regular Season Round 3: Kalisz - Gornik Walbrzych 73-96

Gornik delivered the third consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed Kalisz (0-2) 96-73. Gornik dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Kalisz's 24. They outrebounded Kalisz 44-21 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gornik looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Marcin Wrobel (200-87) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-93) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Artur Mrowczynski (194-84) who recorded 22 points and 7 assists and guard Lukasz Wojciechowski (184-88) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gornik will face Miedzychod (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Kalisz will play against Koscian (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
