There was a surprise result when Alcazar (1-1) edged at home CB Granada (1-1) 70-68 on Saturday. CB Granada was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 22-14 charge of Alcazar, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American-Haitian guard Nick LaGuerre (190, college: St.Mary's, MD, agency: Duran International) who scored 16 points. Power forward Yago Estevez (204-91) chipped in 11 points. Jamaica forward Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alcazar will face Fontedoso Carrefour (#9) in Avila in the next round where they are favorite. CB Granada will play at home against Gandia (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
