Date: October 8, 2016
Undefeated leader Quimper UJAP delivered the fourth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 13th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (1-3) 100-76. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 58-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Quimper UJAP especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of point guard Maxime Choplin (181-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 assists and Kevin Mondesir (204-91) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. At the losing side Slovakian power forward Justin Sedlak (206-87, college: Florida Tech) responded with 24 points and Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimper UJAP have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with Souffel. Gries/Oberhoffen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Quimper UJAP will meet GET Vosges (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against Vendee Challans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
