United was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Findon 87-79 on Sunday night. United trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 21-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 79-87 at the end of the game. Adelaide 36ers made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) stepped up and scored 30 points and 5 assists for the winners and power forward Daniel Johnson (210-88, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Cedric Jackson (191-86, college: Cleveland St.) responded with 15 points and 7 assists and the other American import guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) scored 15 points. Four Adelaide 36ers and five United players scored in double figures. United's coach Dean Demopoulos tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Adelaide 36ers will face Bullets in Brisbane in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. United will play at home against Illawarra Hawks (#3) and hope to win that game.
