Regular Season Round 3: Andorra - Joventut 92-73

Very expected game when Joventut (0-3) was crushed on the road by Andorra (2-0) 92-73 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-73. Andorra made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Joventut was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international forward Nacho Martin (203-83) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Andorra players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Garrett Stutz (212-90, college: Wichita St.) with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Polish forward Tomasz Gielo (206-93, college: Mississippi) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Andorra will face Baskonia (#6) in Vitoria in the next round. Joventut will play at home against CB Canarias (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
