Regular Season Round 1: Polpharma - Anwil 83-82

A very interesting game took place in Starogard. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Anwil (0-1) to Polpharma (1-0) 83-82 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Naturalized American swingman Michael Hicks (193-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Polpharma's coach Mindaugas Budzinauskas allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Toney McCray (196-89, college: Nebraska, agency: Alti Sport) answered with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Michal Chylinski (196-86, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points in the effort for Anwil. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Polpharma's next round opponent will be PGE Turow (#3) in Zgorzelec, which may be the game of the day. Anwil will play at home against Wilki Morskie (#7) and hope to win that game.
