Very important is a road loss of Espoo Basket (1-1) against Raholan Pyrkiva (1-0) on Sunday night. Visiting Espoo Basket was defeated by Raholan Pyrkiva in a tough game in Tampere 86-90. The hosts trailed by 15 points after three quarters before their 32-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Raholan Pyrkiva forced 19 Espoo Basket turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Tommi Rasi (184-98) who scored 29 points. Swingman Antti Keski-Koukkari (192-90) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Raholan Pyrkiva players scored in double figures. Raholan Pyrkiva's coach Heikki Jarnstrom allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Darian Cartharn (183-91, college: Mo.-St.Louis) produced 46 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Gambia center Baboucarr Ceesay (197-94) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Raholan Pyrkiva will face HNMKY U23 (#7) in the next round. Espoo Basket will play against Ura Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
