Regular Season Round 3: Kauhajoki - KTP Basket 88-68

KTP-Basket (#5) was upset in Kauhajoki by Kauhajoen Karhu 88-68. It looked good early as KTP-Basket took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kauhajoen Karhu had a 28-16 second period charge getting the lead and KTP-Basket was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-88. They outrebounded KTP-Basket 34-22 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kauhajoen Karhu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Kammeon Holsey (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American forward William Walker (197-87, college: Bethel, IN) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Jamaica-American power forward Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) added 15 points respectively for KTP-Basket in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against BC Nokia (#9) on the road in the next round. KTP-Basket will play against UU-Korihait in Uusikaupunki and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
