Regular Season Round 2: Hawks - Kings 84-88

Another exciting game was played in Gwynneville between Kings and Illawarra Hawks where Kings (2-1) beat Illawarra Hawks (1-2) on the road 88-84. Illawarra Hawks were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 23-12 third quarter run of Kings. Naturalized Italian center Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Jason Cadee (186-91) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Kings players scored in double figures. American guard Marvelle Harris (193-93, college: Fresno St.) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Illawarra Hawks. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kings will play against New Zealand Breakers (#6) in Auckland in the next round where they are favorite. Illawarra Hawks will play again on the road against Kings in Sydney to get more than just one victory in their record.
