Regular Season Round 3: UNI Gyor - ZTE NKK 76-52

Date: October 13, 2016
An exciting game was played in Gyor. UNI Gyor faced ZTE NKK. Host UNI Gyor (3-0) smashed guests from Zalaegerszeg (1-1) 76-52. The game was mostly controlled by UNI Gyor. ZTE NKK managed to win third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UNI Gyor dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE NKK's 28. They outrebounded ZTE NKK 44-18 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Brianna Kiesel (170-93, college: Pittsburgh) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Zsofia Simon (181-89, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU, agency: Interperformances) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Ashley Daniels (186-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. UNI Gyor will meet Miskolc (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. ZTE NKK will play against Vasas Akademia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
