Regular Season Round 2: AZS Koszalin - Energa Czarni 80-83

A very close game took place in Koszalin between Energa Czarni and AZS Koszalin. Energa Czarni (1-1) got a very close victory on the road over AZS Koszalin (0-2). Energa Czarni managed to escape with a 3-point win 83-80 on Friday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-17. But AZS Koszalin won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) scored 27 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Canadian forward Greg Surmacz (203-86, agency: Promotex) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American center Darrell Harris (205-84, college: Rhode Island) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Remon Nelson (175-90, college: FoKoPo) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Energa Czarni will meet at home Asseco (#13) in the next round where they are favorite. AZS Koszalin will play against AZS Polfarmex in Kutno and hope to win that game.
