Regular Season Round 2: Faros - Aiolos Astakou 92-81

Very important is a road loss of Aiolos Astakou (1-1) against Faros (2-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Aiolos Astakou was defeated by Faros in Keratsiniou 92-81. It looked good early as Aiolos Astakou took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Faros had a 27-23 second period charge getting the lead and Aiolos Astakou was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-92. Faros made 28-of-34 charity shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Aiolos Astakou was plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) notched 19 points to lead the effort and power forward Christos Petrodimopoulos (206-80) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Faros players scored in double figures. Even 13 points by guard Nikos Kaklamanos (189-81) did not help to save the game for Aiolos Astakou. Forward Giorgos Brozos (198-86, college: Furman) added 11 points for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Faros will play against Kavala (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Aiolos Astakou will play against Amyntas Dafnis (#9) to get more than just one victory in their record.
