Regular Season Round 4: Ezerunas-Karys - Delikatesas 69-82

Date: October 15, 2016
Everything could happen in Moletai at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Delikatesas and 9th ranked Ezerunas-Karys had identical 1-2 record. But Ezerunas-Karys was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Joniskis 82-69 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Delikatesas. Ezerunas-Karys was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Delikatesas made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for forward Darius Griskenas (194-84) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Mantas Margis (193-96) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Jonas Zakas (190-97) replied with 26 points and 5 rebounds and forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (200-82) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Ezerunas-Karys. Four Ezerunas-Karys players scored in double figures. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Paulius Barkus rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Delikatesas (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Palanga and KTU. Ezerunas-Karys lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Delikatesas will face KTU (#9) in Kaunas in the next round. Ezerunas-Karys will play on the road against Mazeikiai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
