Regular Season Round 4: Gravelines - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 65-78

Very expected game when 14th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (1-3) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (3-1) 78-65. It looked good early as Gravelines-Dunkerque took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pau-Lacq-Orthez took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 13 points. Pau-Lacq-Orthez outrebounded Gravelines-Dunkerque 45-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists and Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) by forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) added 12 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for lost side. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez moved-up to third place, which they share with Antibes and Paris-Levallois. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Strasbourg IG (#18) at home which should be an easy win for them. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Sluc Nancy (#16) and hope to win that game.
