Regular Season Round 4: Nantes - Hainaut 75-61
Date: October 15, 2016
Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Hainaut (1-3) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Nantes Reze (2-1) 75-61. Nantes Reze forced 19 Hainaut turnovers. Strangely Hainaut outrebounded Nantes Reze 40-25 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and German Margret Skuballa (186-87) supported her with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Nantes Reze players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds by American power forward Jacinta Monroe (193-88, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Hainaut. Her fellow American import center Porsha Roberts (188-93, college: SF Austin) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Nantes Reze moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lyon. Hainaut at the other side keeps the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Angers. Nantes Reze will play against Mondeville (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hainaut will play against the league's second-placed Bourges to get more than just one victory in their record.
