There was a surprise result when Reggio Emilia (2-1) won against at home Volpino AltoSeb. (2-1) 65-48 on Sunday. Reggio Emilia held Volpino AltoSeb. to an opponent 20.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Volpino AltoSeb. 52-33 including a 41-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Francesco Veccia (190-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Enrico Germani (199-92) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Reggio Emilia's coach Antonio Tinti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Francesco Belloni (193-94) with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Andrea Pilotti (195-80, agency: Players Group) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Reggio Emilia will face Vicenza (#7) on the road in the next round. Volpino AltoSeb. will play against Sestu (#9) and hope to win that game.
